55 North Gold Inc. 55 North's flagship is the 100% owned Last Hope Gold Project southeast of Lynn Lake in northern Manitoba, near Alamos Gold's Lynn Lake project. An updated resource estimate is expected later in 2026 to replace the September 2021 estimate, and the company changed its name from 55 North Mining Inc. in July 2026.
NVX +21.8%
NV Gold Corporation NV Gold extended its run on the 23 September update from its 100% owned Slumber Gold Project in Nevada, where the new Awakening Zone, about 1.4km northeast of earlier gold zones, returned 41.14m at 0.844g/t Au from 158.5m in discovery hole SL-42, including 21.34m at 1.00g/t Au. SL-38 cut 47.25m at 0.655g/t Au from 185.98m. Assays are in for three of six initial holes, with 25 to 30 more holes planned mainly at Awakening after leased private land connected the claim blocks.
NINE +16.7%
Nine Mile Metals Ltd. Nine Mile continued its run on the 24 September assays from WD-26-14 at the Wedge Mine in the Bathurst Mining Camp, New Brunswick, which returned 5.09% Cu-Eq over 14.15m from 107.35m, including 6.35% Cu-Eq over 9.00m and 7.45% Cu-Eq over 6.00m, with a peak sample of 8.59% Cu-Eq. The company reports the intervals as true width, and Cu-Eq combines copper, lead, zinc, silver and gold at 26 August 2026 Kitco prices, including US$6.52/lb copper.

Top Losers (CAD)
ASHL -18.2%
Ashley Gold Corp. Profit taking after the recent run-up, which followed the 25 September Phase III assay release, since re-transmitted. An eastern step-out of the 67Z zone on the Tak Project in the Dryden area of Ontario cut 3.333g/t Au over 60.00m from 24.00m downhole, including 229g/t Au over 0.65m at 63.15m downhole. The Tak patents abut NexGold's Goliath-Gold Complex and sit on the southwest of Ashley's Burnthut Project.
SOI -13.0%
Sirios Resources Inc. Profit taking after the recent run-up, alongside a 28 September release proposing a 15-for-1 share consolidation that would cut shares on issue from 672,943,910 to about 44,862,927, and a name change to Sirios Mining Inc. Both need shareholder and TSXV approval, with the annual and special meeting set for 30 October 2026, and the shares would keep the SOI symbol. The board says the consolidation may improve marketability, liquidity and access to capital markets.
NWST -12.5%
Northwest Copper Corp. NorthWest's flagship is the 100% owned Kwanika-Stardust copper-gold project in British Columbia, where its latest update on 11 August reported more than 6,500m of a fully funded 10,000m drill program completed to the end of July. Initial assays were then due in late August or early September, with an updated PEA due within weeks.

The White House Mined, Melted, and Poured in America: President Trump Reverses Years of Anti-Mining Policy President Trump announced a US$15 billion Mesabi Metallics steel mill in Iowa that the White House says will create 1,750 permanent jobs, support up to 6,000 construction jobs and add US$95 billion to the US economy over a decade. The first phase is set to produce 7.5 million tons a year, rising to about ten million tons, using ore from Mesabi's newly opened Minnesota mine, described as the first new US iron ore mine in 50 years. The release also claims raw steel output is up 9% since Trump returned to office and that American mills supply 84% of the finished steel market, up from 77% in 2024.
Industrial Info Resources Peru's Government Expects US$7 Billion in Mining Investments and Advances 240 Projects by Year-End Energy and Mines Minister Guillermo Shinno told Congress Peru expects over US$7 billion of mining investment by year-end, the highest annual figure in a decade, after US$4.1 billion materialised from January to July, up 45% on the same period last year. Permits went to 150 projects worth US$3.1 billion in the first eight months, with 240 targeted by year-end, and the new government is aiming for about US$40 billion of mining investment over five years. Copper output was 1.59 million tonnes from January to July, up 2.2%, while gold output fell 6.4%.
Reuters China's Refined Copper Output on Track for Lowest Growth in Decades This Year, Analysts Say Wood Mackenzie and Zijin Tianfeng Futures expect China's refined copper output to rise only 3% to 3.4% this year, against 10.4% growth in 2025, which a Reuters review of official records shows would be the weakest since at least 2000. Output rose 4% in the first eight months, but a tax crackdown on scrap is adding to the concentrate shortage, and sulphuric acid prices are down 11% in September, squeezing smelter margins. Planned maintenance at Chinese smelters in October and November could cut refined supply by about 80,000 tonnes.
