Africa's Last Unexplored Copper Belt

Africa has three major copper belts. The Central African Copperbelt has produced over five billion tonnes of ore and hosts more than 152 million tonnes of contained copper. The Kalahari Copperbelt attracted Sandfire, Khoemacau and a decade of junior activity. Both are Neoproterozoic sediment-hosted systems, the same geological architecture responsible for roughly 20% of global copper production. The third belt, the Kaoko Copper Belt along the northwest coast of Namibia, shares the same age, the same basin structure, the same evaporite-bearing carbonate-shale stratigraphy, and the same proximity to the Congo Craton. It is the least explored of all three, and it sits in what is arguably the best mining jurisdiction on the African continent.
